      • “WRITE IT. SHOOT IT. PUBLISH IT. CROCHET IT, SAUTÉ IT, WHATEVER. MAKE.”— JOSS WHEDON

So, I am a dabbler. I like to try anything & everything that interests me.

As a result I have a lot of skills & an eclectic body of work.

I used think that I had to dial it in to one medium or style of work, but recently I decided to just go with it.

Now my body of work is ever evolving.

Here is a small sample of the many things I've created over the years.

I am a maker of many things. I love to create - whether it's with paint, wax, fibre, or through a camera lens.

Primarily my painting involves acrylics & encaustic, but a mood can take me into watercolours & oils.

It seems my hands are always busy - spinning, dyeing fibre & weaving, then making with the resulting fabric.

My favourite things are made of linen, silk, cotton & wool. If not busy with creative tasks my hands will be holding a book, as I do love to read.

Riding motorcycles or my e-bike or a gentle hike are some of the outdoor activities I enjoy.Life is flying by at an alarming rate - I don't want to miss a thing!

      • When I was working, and could find time and money, I traveled.

Now that I am retired and have loads of time I'm finding affording travel a bit tricky. One of these days I'll have to find myself a part-time gig so I can start saving up again.

Tenative plans are in the works to visit Portugal. I'm hoping to pull it off as I've longed to go there for ages.

When I do venture out into the world I like to:

        •  explore European cities on foot (occationally getting lost),
        • visit museums and art galleries for hours,
        • sit leisurely at a café and watch people go by,
        • find a nice road and take a scenic trip on my motorcycle, or
        • catch a train and enjoy the countryside as it speeds by.

I've only been to a fraction of the places I long to see, but I'm still looking out for that next destination and hope to be for many years yet.

Below are photos of some of the wonderful places I've been.

I hope you enjoy them and it inspires you to take some voyages of your own.
