      EXPLORE MY WORK

    • identity

I am a wife to a wonderful man, a mother to grown son, and a maker of many things.

I love to create - whether it's with fabric, or fibre, paint, or with a camera. I dabble in lots of mediums, but right now my focus is on working with fibre - dyeing, spinning and weaving. I also like to paint, mostly in oils, watercolours and wax.

I make garments out of linen, silk, and wool.

I love to read and ride my motorcycle.

Life is flying by at an alarming rate - I don't want to miss a thing!

So, I am a dabbler. I like to try anything and everything that interests me.
As a result I have a lot of minor skills and no major body of work. I used think that was a problem, but recently I decided to just go with it. Let's face it - at 55 I'm unlikely to suddenly change my ways.

Here is a small sample of the many things I've played with creatively over the years.

      clamp, acrylic 2019

    • When I'm not working, and can afford it, I love to travel. I like to explore European cities and to sit leisurely at a café and watch people go by. I like to find a nice road and take a scenic trip on my motorcycle or catch a train and enjoy the countryside as it speeds by. I've only been to a fraction of the places I long to see, but I'm still looking out for that next destination and hope to be for many years yet.

Early in 2020 my husband and I went to see the World Junior Hockey Tournament in Ostrava, Czech Republic. It’s been a long time dream of ours to see the championships live in a European setting, and we had a great time there. Stops in Frankfurt and Prague added to the experience. If it wasn’t for the plane ride to and from, it would have been a perfect trip. We just missed the outbreak of COVID-19 in Europe, and have been hunkered down at home ever since.

Next stop - somewhere warm, or Ireland, we’ll have to see what happens with future travels...

Below are photos of some of the wonderful places I've been. I hope you enjoy them and it inspires you to take some voyages of your own.
